Extend The Life of Your Flat Iron

Flat irons are great hair styling tools that can bring tons of fresh styles to every owner. In your hair-styling routine it’s important to remember the basic care of our hair and straighteners. Taking care of your hair and your flat iron will not only give you the best styling results, but it also extends the life of your straightener.

#1 - Clean Iron Regularly
To ensure your straightener will pass smoothly through your hair, keep your iron clean. To clean your straightener, pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth and wipe the plates while your flat iron is still warm (not hot, but warm). The alcohol will soften buildup on your straightener so you can wipe it. It’s best to clean your iron after each use. Simply wipe clean while it is cooling so that it will be ready the next time you want to use it!

#2 - Style Clean Hair
Whether you are straightening, flipping, or curling with your flat iron, one basic, but important tip is to make sure your hair is clean. Washing your hair will clean out grease and any product buildup that could potentially accumulate on your flat iron. Making sure your hair is clean before using a flat iron will also help the flat iron pull smoothly through your hair.

Having a regular up-keep schedule for your hair and your flat iron will keep your hair healthier and extend your straightener’s lifetime.
